Kevin O’Leary, also known as “Mr. Wonderful,” is a Canadian businessman, investor, and television personality. He was born on July 9, 1954, in Montreal, Quebec. O’Leary attended the University of Waterloo where he earned a degree in environmental studies and psychology. After graduation, he founded his first company, Special Event Television, which produced original sports programming. However, it was his second venture, SoftKey Software Products, that would make him a millionaire.
In 1999, O’Leary sold SoftKey to Mattel for $3.7 billion, making him one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Canada. He then went on to invest in various companies and became a venture capitalist. In 2006, he joined the cast of the business reality show, Dragon’s Den, which led to his role on the American spinoff, Shark Tank.
